Gallery pop/off/art is one of the leading art galleries in Russian contemporary art. The gallery represents works not only of the Russian artists but also of those living abroad. There is some international artist, from the post-soviet space in Eastern and Central Europe. The gallery is in the top five Russian galleries list (according to Forbes) and the top 500 galleries of the world (according to Blouin Artinfo).
The gallery was found in Moscow in 2004, by the art critic Sergey Popov. Since 2011, the gallery relocated at Winzavod CCA – one of the central art clusters of Eastern Europe, focusing on Moscow's cultural life. From 2012 to 2014 the gallery had its branch in Berlin (Charlottenburg, Mommsenstr. 35). Since 2015, the gallery occupies one of the largest sites of Winzavod CCA, designed by an architect Alexander Brodsky.
The gallery represents artists from both classic and contemporary art. Artists of the gallery are Erik Bulatov, Igor Shelkovsky, Arkady Petrov, Rostislav Lebedev, and the leaders of today's art scene Irina Nakhova, Olga Chernysheva, Anatoly Osmolovsky and Vitaly Pushnitsky. Rising stars are Andris Eglitis, Ivan Plyushch and Ivan Novikov.
The works of all artists were taken in museum collections, including the world's largest museums. Most artists were awarded national and international prizes, and many artists took part in key international periodic exhibitions such as Documenta, Venice Biennale. Many artists are the leaders of auction sales and comprise "Top 100 recognised artists".
The pop/off/art gallery exhibited in the leading Russian museums: The Hermitage, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum and the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.
Alongside direct sales and activities to form collections of contemporary art, the gallery deals with consulting in the field of the international art market and contemporary art investments.
Sergey Popov Art critic, curator Was born 1976 in Moscow. In 1998 graduated Moscow State Art Institute n.a. Surikov, art history faculty. In 2000 – 2004 – worked in the State Tretyakov gallery, Moscow. Since 2000 have been teaching the history of modern art and such disciplines as "Art Market and the system of art", "Investments in art", "Pricing in Contemporary Art" in the higher and private educational institutions of Russia. Since 2004 – founder and director of pop/off/art gallery, Moscow. Since 1992 has published about 200 articles on contemporary art. Author of the book “Always Other Art.
