The exhibition "Once upon a time: A School of Russian fairy tales" was extended until May 20.

18 March 2025
The research exhibition, which has been loved by thousands of visitors, will continue its work until May 20, 2025 inclusive and will introduce even more people to the cultural heritage of Russian fairy tales. One of the most striking and memorable events of the winter season in Moscow was the exhibition "Once upon a Time: A School of Russian Fairy tales" fr om MTS Live, which takes place in the historical dungeons of the Central Research Institute "Vinzavod" - under the arches of a Large Wine Storage. The project aroused considerable interest and response from the public: in less than three months, the exhibition was visited by 60 thousand people. Therefore, the organizers decided to extend it. "Due to the great interest in our exhibition and the requests of visitors, we decided to extend it in order to give everyone the opportunity to touch the fairy tale," comments Ilya Dybov, producer of the project. Russian Russian Fairy Tale School project invites adults and children to look at the cultural heritage of Russian fairy tales together in a new way. The plot of the exhibition is built around a well—known saying: "A fairy tale is a lie, but there is a hint in it! A lesson for good fellows." This folk wisdom became the basis of the concept of space, dividing it into two semantic parts: real school classrooms and attention-grabbing installations in the form of fabulous landscapes and interiors familiar to everyone since childhood. The exhibition's exposition is represented by 15 thematic zones spread over an area of 2,200 square meters, each of which opens up new facets of Russian fairy tales to the audience. Even after visiting the exhibition once, you may not notice a lot of unique details: the exhibition features a wide variety of installations, art objects and other artifacts created and selected specifically for the project by the Triumph Gallery of Modern Art, each of which can be viewed from completely different angles. In addition, visitors will enjoy various interactive elements: guests will be able to hug birch trees to listen to their heartbeat, pull on a protruding turnip and make a wish at a well with a pike. The immersion exhibition provides a unique opportunity for adults to relive their childhood, and for young visitors to get acquainted with traditional fairy-tale images in an immersive interaction format that is fascinating and understandable for modern children. These spaces create an atmosphere for family recreation and joint exploration of the fabulous world. Guests of the exhibition can explore the exposition on their own or accompanied by a free audio guide that will tell you more about the thematic areas and exhibits. Visitors also have the opportunity to join group tours. During the walk, guests will learn interesting facts about the creation of exhibitions and look at the works presented through the prism of stories, myths and symbols that each installation is filled with. Every Saturday and Sunday, at 2 p.m., the exhibition features a creative workshop with themed fairy tale workshops. More information about the ongoing workshops can be found on the website. The exhibition "Once upon a Time: A School of Russian Fairy Tales" is being held at the Vinzavod Center for Contemporary Art, located at 1/8 4th Syromyatnicheskiy Lane, building 9. It will last until May 20, 2025 inclusive. You can purchase a ticket to the exhibition and get acquainted with the program of events on the website ruskazka.ru .
