PREMIERE OF THE CATALOG BOOK "It happened to me"

15 December 2025
The Vinzavod Center for Contemporary Art presents a catalog book for the exhibition "It happened to me". "The value of this publication is specifically for the viewer, that through the texts in the catalog, he will receive clarification of what is behind the images, what circumstances and realities. This catalog is an important source of information about how the artists themselves, the greatest in Moscow and Russian art of our time, think and understand themselves and their work," curator Victor Misiano.

The catalog book includes interviews with the artists of the exhibition "It happened to me": Evgeny Granilshchikov, Irina Korina, Dmitry Gutov, Peter Bely, Ivan Novikov, Vladimir Logutov, Jan Ginzburg, Sergey Sapozhnikov, Alexandra Sukhareva and Dima Filippov.

Each interview is unique in its own way, as the artists share not only the details of the projects, but also their overall view of contemporary art in the current context.

It is important that the book continues the publishing program and the first part in the series is the catalog "Scientific Research Institute Archive.Remontage", dedicated to the first exhibition of the institutional direction.

The exhibition "It happened to me" presents the projects of 10 artists, who, according to the idea of curator Victor Misiano, should present the past in a new way, through the artistic view of the project participants. The curator suggested taking the projects of previous years as a starting point and rethinking their place in the present. Dmitry Gutov, Evgeny Granilshchikov, Irina Korina, Peter Bely, Ivan Novikov, Vladimir Logutov, Jan Ginzburg, Sergey Sapozhnikov, Alexandra Sukhareva and Dima Filippov, based on their projects at the Vinzavod Central Art Institute, have created new statements that have a lot in common with the history of Russian contemporary art.

Curator Victor Misiano recorded a special audio guide for the exhibition (with an English version), mediation tours for adults were organized, and a special program was developed for children.

Project curator: Victor Misiano, curator, art historian, art critic, publisher, PhD in Art History. In 1980-1990 — Head of the Department. Department of Modern Western Art of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. 1992-1997 — Curator of the Center for Contemporary Art, Moscow.
