Nine new exhibitions in the galleries of the CCA Winzavod

29 January 2025
The first exhibitions of the new year opened in nine resident galleries of the Central Exhibition Center Winzavod as part of the Opening Day Evening Diana Kapizova's solo exhibition "Over the rainbow, Let's hide in the shadows" has opened in the XL Gallery. The name of the project is taken from the famous Hollywood movie "The Wizard of Oz" from 1939 (song Over the Rainbow). Just like Ellie, Diana Kapizova makes her own journey into an amazing magical land between digital and physical objects, colored in green and pink. VLADEY and OVCHARENKO present Pavel Pepperstein's retrospective exhibition "I can Draw a Fisherman". The exhibition at VLADEY Space features works made over a period of 50 years, from 1974 to 2024. On 11.12, the GALLERY presented a new project by Anna Selina, "The Boy's Quotation Book." The artist explores the image of gopnik, who has become an integral part of popular culture, like Caribbean pirates or American gangsters. They are all marginal strata of society, living by their own laws. The main question of the artist is: what is really hidden under this romanticized image? HSE ART GALLERY has opened an exhibition project "The Art of Books. School, publishing house, community." The exhibition features works by students of the HSE School of Design, their teachers, and other prominent book designers. All the exhibits presented can be picked up, scrolled through and study their contents in detail. The new exhibition of the PENNLAB gallery continues the trend aimed at presenting contemporary authors, showing the development of the language and experimental methods of photography. The exhibition "Laboratory Clocks" presents the works of five contemporary artists inspired by the creative process as a scientific experiment. The authors explore the invisible aspects of the world around them through the lens of nature, memory, and human interaction. The a—s—t—r—a Gallery has presented the sixth edition of the annual a—s—t—r—a open project, a series of group exhibitions during which the gallery space becomes a place for institutional debut, testing of new ideas and a platform for artistic dialogue. "This exhibition is both the beginning and the continuation, the possibilities of a common future and, most importantly, the strategic expansion of the territories and boundaries of contemporary art" — curator a—s—t—r—a open vol.6 Svetlana Taylor. Totibadze Gallery has opened the exhibition "Recipe for Happiness" by Alexandra Demidova. The exhibition presents the series "Alchemical Comics", which is a kind of visual diary of Alexandra. Turning to medieval images, the artist invites the viewer to find his own recipe for happiness. FINEART GALLERY has launched a collective project "50/50". The exhibition features works by 50 artists measuring 50x50 cm. Among the participants: Vladimir Dubosarsky, Konstantin Zvezdochetov, Francisco Infante-Arana and Nonna Goryunova, Gosha Ostretsov, Olga Soldatova and others. The BIS ART GALLERY has opened a collective exhibition "Native streets of a foreign city". The exhibition presents works made in different techniques and conceptualizing the experience of living in a strange city. Admission to the galleries is free, please check the opening hours on the galleries' website.
