Open Day of the exhibition Once upon a time: The School of Russian Fairy Tales

01 August 2025
The exhibition "Once upon a time: A School of Russian fairy tales" will hold an open day on the eve of the new academic year Admission is free: the exhibition "Once upon a time: A school of Russian fairy tales" invites you to visit before the restart On August 3, children and adults will be able to visit the exhibition for free, participate in interactive quests, raffle gifts by September 1 and try themselves as the creators of one of the exhibits – a large-scale coloring book based on fairy-tale motifs, which the organizers plan to integrate into the exhibition. The exhibition "Once upon a Time: The School of Russian Fairy Tales" has become one of the most visited in the country and has been extended twice by popular demand. 80,000 visitors during operation, a huge amount of UGC content on the social network. The main results of the project are the numerous enthusiastic reviews and, in general, a significantly increased interest in the topic of Russian folklore. "The success of our exhibition, it seems to us, is that we have managed to create a platform for rethinking traditions, learning and a unique deep immersive experience for all ages and audiences. And here the concept of the school played a particularly important role – to present seemingly well-known plots, narratives and characters in the format of gaining new knowledge, nuances and details, rules according to which the Russian fairy-tale world and its characters live, this made our project unique, unlike any other exhibitions on the subject of fairy tales. We decided to hold an Open Day for everyone who has not yet had time to get acquainted with our magical "school", because August will be the last month of the exhibition with the current exposition. On September 1, when everyone goes to school, our "Once upon a Time: The School of Russian Fairy Tales" will go on its fabulous holidays to restart, in order to open in October with a completely updated exposition," Ilya Dybov, producer of the project, shares the results and news. The new "academic" year at the Russian Fairy Tale School promises to surprise and delight all visitors even more. While maintaining the concept of the school, the project team plans to add even more interactive exhibits that the audience loved so much, build new impressive magical installations, and of course, share unique knowledge about the fairy-tale world that can only be obtained at the exhibition "Once upon a Time: The School of Russian Fairy Tales". "To understand what is missing from this exhibition, it was necessary to live in it. We have lived with her for three seasons, and in October we will show her from one side to a completely different one: in terms of presentation, material, and volume, but the main thing is that we will leave what is so dear to us in the current exhibition. This is an exhibition with a very specific language, pictorial or expositional, that we were lucky enough to find. We will keep it," Dmitry Khankin, founder of the Triumph Gallery. Admission to the exhibition on the Open Day on August 3 is carried out with free tickets purchased at the entrance. The exhibition "Once upon a time: a school of Russian fairy tales" runs until August 31 and will open in an updated format on October 1.
