"It would seem that Gasteva and Cage are separated by the ocean, state and cultural boundaries and time. Nevertheless, I unexpectedly discovered many interesting intersections: John Cage, who said that contemporary art has already done a lot to change consciousness and that now the moment has come to turn to the social aspect, and Alexei Kapitonovich Gastev, who directly occupied the position of a social transformer, but the drawings of his scientific works can and should be exhibited in art museums: both are revolutionaries, who radically changed the two processes - labor and music.

Hearing the music by Gastev in the sounds of the factory beeps (and here, for sure, did not do without Varlamov's "Symphony of beeps", but on the other hand, the specific music of Cage on ordinary objects or dissecting the piano with bolts and nuts gives another semantic unit," - Natalia Pshenichnikova.

"Dramaturgy of the concert-performance "Warrants. Imaginary Dialogue of Alexey Gastev and John Cage" was developed specially for the exhibition of the gallery "On Shabolovka" dedicated to Alexey Gastev (1882-1939), an outstanding figure of the early Soviet literary and artistic and socio-political avant-garde. Now the performance is played in a new space, but the musical and choreographic solution of "Orders" involves the exhibits of the exhibition - the reconstruction of instruments and simulators from the laboratories of the Central Institute of Labor founded by Gastev, and the psychotechnology and biomechanics of Gastev's "poetry of the working stroke" is the basis of plastic performer. Gastev's poetic, journalistic and theoretical texts are not coincidentally found in "Orders" with the music of John Cage: both revolutionaries have radically rethought the role of movement and sound in life and art", - Anna Tolstova, expert of THEATRUM 2020 festival.

The play will be held as part of THEATRUM 2020 festival - part of a large joint project of the Theater Institute (Educational Project of the Golden Mask Festival) and the Vladimir Potanin Charity Foundation.

THEATRUM was launched in 2019 and was designed to update and draw the attention of the professional community, cultural managers and the general public to stage and performance practices in museums, galleries and reserves, as well as installation and exhibition forms of theater.

From the very beginning THEATRUM consists of three parts: a laboratory to study ways of creating museum and theater projects; a festival of regional and metropolitan productions, already created at the junction of museum and theater formats; a business program.

Curators and founders of THEATRUM project are Anton Flerov and Maria Beilina.

THEATRUM immediately revealed a significant scale, boundless geography and huge creative potential of cooperation between theater and museum institutions and professionals. THEATRUM instantly attracted the most important partners in the professional sphere, including international ones.

THEATRUM 2020 was to take place in spring this year and bring the complex of identified tasks to a new level. The global epidemiological crisis caused by COVID-19 not only had a critical impact on plans and deadlines, but also changed the very reality of cultural institutions and posed fundamentally different questions.

In mid-August 2020, the "THEATRUM: Re Formation" program was held in Moscow to help theaters and museums overcome the stress of returning to normal work, the suspension of which obviously put both creative and administrative teams at risk of "loss of form". "THEATRUM: Re Formation" consisted of performances that connected theaters and museums in Moscow. The authors of the performances were foreign artists who took up the task of composing projects specially for artists of Moscow theaters in the spaces of Moscow museums. In parallel with the performance program "THEATRUM: Re Formation", an online program was created and conducted around "quarantine" art, performance and visual projects that emerged during or in connection with isolation, social distance, digitalization of activity, as well as during the quarantine period.

In the summer, the main plans of THEATRUM were also renewed. On August 25-29, a laboratory was conducted in Kazan under the supervision of curators Vani Bouden and Alexander Barmenkov.
