A performance about the artist's personal time, a performance "The Blessing of Groys" and on the Day of the Winter Solstice, street art robots and much more are in the program for December artists of the tenth season of the Winery's Open Studios.


December 5 at 19:30 — performance "The artist at work" by Julia Dibrova

The performance "The Artist at work" reflects the fine line between the subject and the object of art, between the observer and the observed. "By immersing the viewer in his personal space, I want to show that the artist essentially has no personal time and even space, since his ability to "see" hides the need to be visible — to the viewer, institutions, himself as a result of self—reflection and interaction with others," Yulia Dibrova.

December 9 at 18:00 — workshop "How to understand (and create) technological art" by artist Aksana Prutskova.

During the workshop, Aksana will talk about art in the digital age: fr om virtual reality and artificial intelligence to telematics experiments and street art robots. The event is useful for those interested in contemporary art and artists who explore new tools and techniques to help expand their creative potential.

December 17 at 18:00 — performance "The Blessing of Groys" by artist Polina Savina.

The ceremony is intended to receive the true blessing of the oracle of modernity — Boris Groys. "A practicing artist can perform a rite of worship to ask for a blessing from Groys — for this it is necessary to lay some personal thing on the altar and receive a sacred object in return. It is believed that performance artists can also transmit spiritual power by giving a blessing by tying a thread with the sacred letter "G" on the wrist of another artist. It is believed that the spiritual power of the performer comes from his virtue and sincerity of intentions. Expressing faith and devotion to Groys, artists can also repent in order to alleviate the consequences of a bad CV or to improve their portfolio," Polina Savina.

December 21 at 17:00 — lecture "Refraction" in Gus-Khrustalny: how to independently organize an art festival in a regional city" by artist and curator Daria Arbuzova.

Daria Arbuzova will talk about the experience of organizing an art event in the region, about the problems that had to be faced and wh ere to start if you yourself want to organize an exhibition/festival/cultural program without a budget and experience using the example of the Refraction art festival.

December 22 at 19:00 — collective performance "Night of ten".

On the days of the winter solstice, the nights are especially dark and long, so Margarita Zhuravleva, a resident of the Open Studios of season 10, and the artists will come together as one, creating a metaphor for the sun, and filling themselves with its energy to try to survive the dark time.
