Performance collaboration by Sergey Nikitin and Tina Shibalova
A performance collaboration with artist Tina Shibalova will take place as part of the finale of Sergey Nikitin's exhibition "Unsportsmanlike Behavior."
The event completes the "Unsportsmanlike Behavior" project and continues to explore the cyclical nature of the exhibition process, in which the dismantling and disappearance of one project turns into a moment of potential, a "zero point" for a new statement. The artists will work with materials fr om Tina Shibalova's previous exhibition "Getting Lost on this Day", previously implemented as part of the Vinzavod program.Experiment.
About the participants
Sergey Nikitin is an interdisciplinary artist, the author of the project "Unsportsmanlike behavior". Participant of the 4th season of the Winery's Open Studios and resident of the workshops of the CSI Winzavod. Co-founder of the streetwear art brand Nikitin Stuff and the art bistro Brunchy Brunch. In his work, he uses a spontaneous performative approach to painting. He works in the abstract portrait genre and mixed media with references to art brut and naive art.
Tina Shibalova is an interdisciplinary artist, curator and researcher of modernity. He is engaged in performance and video art and their further representation in other mediums, aiming to find objectness and substance to situations and moments. She works in the aesthetics of non-abstract art, and is a follower of the living art method, wh ere life itself and various methods of living it are art. He continues the practice of early conceptualism, actualizing it through modernity and contextualization. Mediums: performance, installation, analog photography, painting and graphics, video art, objects.
The exhibition "Unsportsmanlike Behavior" is held as part of the Vinzavod Artists support program.Experiment.
