Open discussion "Devaluation of heroes: where the idols of modernity disappeared", timed to the exhibition of Artem Goloshchapov "Watchmakers for the watcher" at the START site, will be held in the Vintage Hall of the CCA Winzavod on April 5 at 19:30.

The video project of the artist Artem Goloschapov is devoted to the study of the key of the heroes of the mass cinema of the last thirty years — to the heroes of semi-marginal and semi-criminal nature. The author of the project asks about the existence of examples of noble heroes, on which the young generation could be guided.

Open discussion "The devaluation of heroes: where the idols of modernity have disappeared" will raise the theme of the creatures of positive characters in post-Soviet cinematography. During the discussion, the speakers discuss the state of the national mass cinema of the last 30 years and the reasons for the mysterious nostalgia of modern youth over the past. Participants also reflect on the peculiarities of art methods of Artem Goloschapov used in the project, and on the influence of the mass information space on contemporary art.
