On December 17th, Liza Neklessa, the project's artist, will give a lecture on "Feminist Art: Womanhouse and Home Space" at the Open Studios of Winzavod.
"Every woman, if she is going to write, must have the means and a room of her own.
Virginia Woolf
At the lecture, Liza Neklessa will talk about the concept of a "women's home" and the understanding of home space in feminist art. How do women and home intersect in contemporary art? What was the first "women's home" and how are artists developing this concept now? What is the relationship between home, life and the female body? That an artist's home is a prison or a source of inspiration, or both?
The entrance is free on
registration.
The event will take place within the framework of the Studio program, which is open to all, and which is initiated by the residents themselves. This program is a chance to immerse oneself in art as a process, to see what issues artists raise with their works and methods, and to get acquainted with their feelings and views on life.
