Evgenia Voynar's personal exhibition "Through the Red Forest" is a fragment of the long-term art project "Inner Forest", on which Evgenia has been working for more than three years. The project is built as an integral imaginary ecosystem — a space in which the biographical experience of the artist is transformed into a system of images, symbols and emotional states.

The "Forest" appears as a metaphorical map of Eugenia's life path. Its various zones correspond to the stages of growing up and internal transitions: childhood, adolescence, maturity; the experience of loss and preservation, trauma and hope. The artist consciously gives the characters certain roles, forming a semblance of theatrical action. In this space, children — characters borrowed from fairy tales and legends — are tested and looking for the possibility of a different, more just world. Naked bodies drowning in snow become images of vulnerability and insecurity. The skeletal motifs and visual distortions convey the state of uncertainty and conventionality of the imaginary forest through which the viewer is invited to pass.

The second important vector of the exhibition is related to its exposition structure. The artist consciously shifts the focus from the result to the process, offering the viewer an immersion in the inner workspace. The works are presented as a set of layers and artistic techniques: charcoal graphics — from messy sketchy lines to thoughtful drawings, picturesque fills and oil monotypes on plastic, rendered into independent objects. Canvases become the final form, in which all these techniques are assembled into a single visual structure, allowing you to trace the path from the idea to the completed work. Such an exhibition move is not accidental: the exhibition is spatially adjacent to the artist's studio and logically invites you to study her visual practice.

The exhibition is held within the framework of the direction Winzavod.Experiment. The program focuses on institutional support for artists and provides a space for artistic or curatorial experimentation.

Projects are being born inside the CCA Winzavod — these are initiatives by residents of Workshops and graduates of Open Studios with the opportunity to present ideas in an exhibition format. The program supports both artistic and curatorial experiments, allowing authors to master institutional exposition tools.

About the artist

Evgenia Voynar is an artist working in the field of contemporary painting. Resident of the 7th season of the "Open Studios" of the CSI Winzavod and the Workshops of the Winery. She received a professional art education at the ISI IB, the Free workshops of MMOMA, MGAKHI named after V. I. Surikov and MAHU. Currently, he also conducts teaching activities at MSSI.
