Igor Volkov is a unique artist from the town of Pavlovo in the Nizhny Novgorod region, but his work attracts a large number of viewers and collectors worldwide. For Volkov, watercolor is not just a technique; it is his philosophy, and its "secrets"
are directly intertwined with the nature of memory and recollection.
Looking at his paintings/stills, you find yourself in a desert. These are not sand dunes, but a desert of the soul, a winter landscape, and an industrial "something and nothing."
Snow-covered objects, hidden under snow, trains and people disappearing into nowhere, dark village houses, broken metal structures, dried hogweed along the road, and children in Soviet fur coats and earflaps... IMAGES within which lies "an entire world and cosmos."
