What do flowers talk about? From herbarium to flower horoscope

HSE ART GALLERY in partnership with the artz.work platform continues the cycle of group exhibition projects fr om the "Big Themes" series, rethinking fundamental ideas and offering new readings of timeless concepts. This time the theme of the exhibition is flowers - their images, symbolism and meanings. The curators are interested in how in the works of contemporary artists flora is endowed with poetic qualities and becomes a way to talk about current issues and problems.

One of the conceptual lines of the exhibition is the metaphorical convergence of the phenomena of herbarium and collecting: both begin with the act of choice and preserve what might have been forgotten. As part of the exhibition program of the Biennale of Private Collections, the project invites us to reflect on fijital collecting, a new format that combines the digital and physical worlds. This format is presented on the artz.work platform, wh ere any artist can create digital reproductions of their physical works and vice versa - turn a digital work into a material object, and any viewer can become a collector.

The exhibition will also feature a special project of the platform called "Floral Horoscope", ironically reflecting the increased interest in esoteric and fortune-telling practices today. It is a series of 366 images of various flowers, each of which corresponds to a day of the year and is accompanied by a description of their symbolism and character traits of the person born on that day.
