On August 6 at 20:00 an artist talk will be held by the participant of the Open Studios Liza Veselova, where she will talk about her practice + will present the zine of the project "8 + 9"

Lisa will talk about her new 8 + 9 zine, which was made within the framework of the Open Studios, her experience of working with delegated performance and how to build communication with a model. Artist Lev Nikitin, who acted as a performer during the filming for the project, will take part in the artist talk’e.

In the 8 + 9 project, the artist explores the attributes of masculinity. The central image of the project is the balaclava - a symbol of terrorism, militarism and anonymity.

In her artistic practice, Lisa explores the concepts of beauty, corporeality and sexuality in modern society. Drawing on her experience in the beauty industry and injectable cosmetology and using feminist optics, she talks about patriarchal stereotypes and superstitions.
