Under the blue sky...

Andrei Klimenko's exhibition “Under the blue sky” is devoted to the realities of the psychiatric hospital. Having a unique experience, being more than once in the neurosis clinic in Moscow and Kiev, the artist wants to convey to the viewer a real picture of what is happening within the walls of this institution.

According to the author, in his works he tries, as far as possible, to convey as accurately as possible the psychological state of a person when he is in a psychiatric hospital, because many patients have lived there for long months and years, and some of them almost all their lives. Most of the time, patients lie on their beds or simply walk down the hall, killing time. The only consolation for most is cigarette smoking, food and rare walks under the supervision of orderlies.

Andrei Klymenko graduated fr om Shevchenko College of Art and Cultural Studies, then Kiev Polygraphic Institute. In 2005 he moved to Moscow, worked in 1C 2D as an artist. In 2016, he was admitted to number 13 psychiatric hospital in Moscow. He returned to Kiev, wh ere he was treated at the Pavlov Psychiatric Hospital for a long time. The artist notes that after a psychiatric hospital began to write under the influence of creativity Munch, Matisse and other artists are able to transfer things as they are.
