Art weekend from ARTIS PROJECT:
Big city life

16+
The Big city life project, organized by ARTIS PROJECT, is dedicated to the versatility of the urban environment, its internal and external processes, as well as to residents who, on the one hand, are co-creators, and on the other hand, are products of this environment.

Having created a megalopolis, man gave him an independent life, giving birth to a creature living according to its own laws and already subordinating them to man himself.

The big city is like a melting pot, in which cultural, social, political, architectural and other "ingredients" are mixed. This complexity is unique and unique at each stage of its “melting”. Moscow 100 years ago is not the same city as it is now. The life of a megapolis, its formation and development is like a magical metamorphosis, reflecting everything that happens in society.

The polyphony of urban resources and subcultures is similar to the endless happening, the scenery for which is the whole urban environment. Many small performances involving the most diverse groups of people merge into one big event, which can be called “The Life of a Big City”.

Restaurant visitors, street vendors, subway drivers, beggars, office workers, hospital patients ... All these participants of the eternal happening, playing the main, then the secondary role - and there is a many-sided face of the metropolis. His appearance - the appearance of each of us.

Reflection of the versatility of a big city through art is the main idea of the project Big city life. Artists are those who do not just study the world around them, they fix it, leaving visual “documentation” for posterity. The life of the city, its philosophy, architecture, atmosphere is revealed by young authors - Julia Malinina, Sasha Sokolova, Julia Vergazova, Andrei Syaylev, Olga Akulina, Mila Gavrilova.
