Sculpture as fiction or commentary? Three-dimensional interface in the post-Internet era

An artist talk with an international resident and a discussion between art community representatives on the topic "Sculpture as fiction or commentary? Three-dimensional interface in the era of post-Internet" will take place in Winzavod Open studios on April 16 at 8PM.

Open studios continue to support young artists and invite guests to discuss the role of sculpture as a private type of object in modern practices.

Speakers will talk about the relevance of three-dimensional interface in sculpture in the era of the Internet and screen consciousness. Participants of the event will discuss whether it seems appropriate to create a completely new image now that one sees the overabundance of such images. The next issue to discuss is a new image as an artist’s way to express events, which have already happened or stay fictitious.

At the end of the discussion artist and curator Anatoly Osmolovsky will present the catalog "Hurray! Sculpture!", released on the results of the exhibition held at Winzavod center for contemporary art in 2016.

Participants:

1) French artist, Open studios international resident Nelson Pernisco.
2) Russian artist, theorist, winner of the Kandinsky Prize Anatoly Osmolovsky;
3) Russian artist, Open studios participant Daria Neretina;
4) Russian artist Alexander Kutovoi;
5) Curator of Garage museum of contemporary art Snezhana Krasteva.

Moderator — curator, art critic Andrey Parshikov.
